Our students are at the heart of all we do. We offer holistic, enriching and practical assistance so they can have a rewarding experience with us. Student support services include the Informatics Virtual Campus (IVC) whereby students will be issued a student ID to access this integrated online learning portal and find useful information regarding life at campus. Besides academic resources necessary for their course of study, the IVC also provides academic support and facilitates student learning and interaction.

Students are also encouraged to discuss matters pertaining to their course of study and related academic matters with their Programme Leaders.

To deliver an effective learning experience, we provide all support to ensure our students’ needs are met. We have designed their learning process such that their academic journey is more fruitful. Students are more than welcome to approach our staff for academic help via various communication channels.

The school organises a host of indoor and outdoor activities supported/supervised where necessary by our lecturers. These activities include talks and seminars to make campus life more fulfilling. Other activities include educational visits to factories, farms and even leisure tours to neighbouring countries. Students may also volunteer in the Informatics Student Council (ISC) to make positive contributions to the school and student body.

The Student Services Office is in charge of course administration for all our students. Our dedicated Student Services Officers will provide the necessary administrative assistance to students to ensure that they achieve their academic goals.  We guide and assist our international students in their Student’s Pass applications/renewals, airport pickups and arranging for students’ accommodation.

Informatics students can enjoy discounts at selected F&B establishments at NLB and within the Bugis vicinity by simply flashing their student card during payment.

To support our students in coping with stress arising from adjusting to a new environment or managing course demands, students may also request for the school to arrange for pastoral counselling. All sessions are private and confidential.

We will help students apply to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) for their Student’s Pass. Students are required to submit their completed documents, which will be sent to the ICA for processing. The Office will notify them once their application is approved, as well as provide them with relevant information for them to prepare for their arrival in Singapore.

We aim to provide services that will help new students to not only settle down in Singapore, but also get familiarised with the school’s campus and learning environment. These services include accommodation arrangement, assistance to complete formalities with the ICA, and providing information to help students settle comfortably in their new environment.

International students are advised to arrive in Singapore at least two weeks before classes are scheduled to begin. For those who wish for the school to arrange an airport transfer, arrival details must be provided at least two days in advance.

To ensure our new international students adapt to the local culture and learning environment, we have in place the International Student Orientation programme that aims to assist students in every possible way.

The International Student Orientation programme provides the following:

  • A guided tour of the campus
  • Assistance to complete medical checkup procedures according to the In-Principle Approval: Student’s Pass – completion of Formalities as stipulated by ICA
  • Information on formalities to collect one’s Student’s Pass
  • Information on student support services
  • Information on living in Singapore
  • Introduction to course
