This course is designed to impart both theoretical and applied Esports support knowledge to students with some basic knowledge of Esports as well as game design and development skills. It aims to enhance the learners knowledge and practical skills in both Esports management and game design and development with skills to create and animate games as well as produce Esports events and manage the Esports community.
IN COLLABORATION WITH SINGAPORE CYBERSPORTS AND ONLINE GAMING ASSOCIATION (SCOGA)
The Esports Academy is a centre of excellence for esports and youth leadership created by Singapore’s Cybersports and Online Gaming Association (SCOGA). The academy aims to equip youths with skills and values such as leadership, team work and communication to strive towards their aspirations and grow in their careers. The academy deploys a learn-by-playing approach using competitive video games to create the learning environment. The academy also uses peer learning methods of training, creating opportunities for young trainees to interact with esports professionals, allowing them to cross share experiences and tell stories.
Combination of lectures, tutorials and workshops in a classroom environment at Informatics Academy campus. Lessons are typically in blocks of 3-hour sessions. The following is the lecturer-student ratio:

This module introduces students to the concepts of 3D modelling. Students will learn to understand how basic 3D models are created, providing textures and the rendering procedures to create the final 3D model. Students will also get a first-hand understanding of manipulating and appreciating 3D paths to produce the final required 3D animation. This module will prepare students for moving on to 3D game techniques and creating their own 3D movie files.
This module enables students to understand the use of complex game engines for game creation using Java programming. The module emphasizes the use of Java advanced objects and object-oriented programming techniques.
This module introduces students to AI techniques such as neural networks, decision trees, genetic classifiers and reinforcement learning required for game development. Students will familiarise themselves with the use of AI library and learn how to apply AI techniques into games developed using C++.
This module provides students with an overview of various considerations in the business of Esports. Students will learn key business areas, including marketing, finance, strategy and the law, and how they relate to Esports.
This module will teach students to look after a community of Esports gamers, tournament providers or other stakeholders of the game. The students will be taught to manage the game community via various social media platforms.
This module equips students with the skills required for the design and development of a 3D mobile game using Unity3D and Android SDK software. The students will learn about lighting, camera, audio, 3D modelling, texturing, animation controls, collision detection and event handling to develop a 3D mobile game to be run in an Android-based device. Students will learn game design through story-writing, user interface diagrams and UML class diagrams.
This module teaches students design, architecture, and management of game development. Students will be taught about real-life case studies of what works and what doesn’t. This module will train students on all the necessary game creation steps-from seeing a game idea on paper to actual implementation of an idea.
This module provides students with an overview of different hardware setups and technical configurations. Students will be taught to use the common hardware and setup tools to drive live production of games. Students will be prepared for roles like Production Crew or Observer from this module.

Upon successful completion of all modules, students will be awarded with a Advanced Diploma in Esports and Game Design awarded by Informatics Academy.
