Programme Overview
The NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (RQF) makes up the first year of the NCC Education degree journey. The qualification is equivalent to the first year of a computing degree qualification in the UK university system.
Students will be given the opportunity to develop essential thinking and study skills, not only within the computing domain but also within the context of business through a balance of academic and vocational subjects. The qualification will allow students to understand and enter the computing profession with the necessary knowledge expected within the industry and the ability to apply the skills to a range of IT-related functions.
On successful completion of the qualification students will be able to progress to NCC Education Level 5 Diploma in Computing (RQF), which is equivalent to the second year of a UK bachelor’s degree, transfer to a university or pursue a career in the Computing industry.
Delivery Model
Combination of lectures, tutorials and workshops in a classroom environment at Informatics Academy campus. Lessons are typically in blocks of 3-4 hour sessions. The following is the lecturer-student ratio:
a) For theory- 1:40
b) For practical- 1:32

Normal Entry

Academic Qualifications: NCC Education Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies (RQF) OR NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Computing (RQF) OR 

1 GCE ‘A’ Level or equivalent, or an appropriate school leaver’s certificate OR

An international qualification which is deemed to be of a similar level to the NCC Education Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies  or NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Computing (RQF) qualification. This shall be agreed with NCC Education in advance.

Minimum Age: 17 years old

English Language: GCE ‘O’ Level English C6 or above OR Have a valid score of 5.5 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination or equivalent.

 

Alternative Entry

Mature candidates with the below credentials may be considered for mature entry on a case-by-case basis:
• Able to demonstrate over two years’ relevant work experience
• Have ‘O’ Level/IGCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
• Fulfilled English language proficiency requirement

Assessments for all modules are offered in a number of assessment cycles throughout the year. Modules are assessed by both examination and coursework assignments.

Upon successful completion of all modules, students will be eligible for the NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (RQF) awarded by NCC Education.
On successful completion of the NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (RQF), students will be able to progress to NCC Education Level 5 Diploma in Computing (RQF), which is equivalent to the second year of a UK bachelor's degree, transfer to a university or pursue a career in the computing industry.
