About the Programme
The programme has been designed so that at its completion, the students will have acquired both a sound theoretical knowledge and practical skills relating to the I.T functions as well as an adequate level of competency in I.T skills in terms of hardware and software. Students typically progress from the Diploma into the Advanced Diploma in IT and this reflects the continuing need for academic development in the Far East as well as world-wide generally.

Objectives
The course aims to equip students to work in a technical capacity within the IT field. In addition, and more generally, the course aims to:
Provide a challenging, stimulating and self-rewarding study environment
Provide a framework whereby individual study paths may be forged based on choice from a range of options
Develop a range of keys skill by means of opportunities provided in the study units
Accommodate student needs in relation to maximising their career potential by enabling them to develop knowledge, understanding and skills in their chosen subject area

Each lesson is 3 hours and is conducted in a classroom setting at Informatics Campus.

Minimum 16 years of age with 2 GCE ‘A’ levels with English or Foundation Certificate for Higher Education (FCHE). |

Minimum 5 ‘N’ Levels1 or 3 GCE ‘O’ Levels1 or equivalent with pass in English*, must complete the Critical Thinking (CT) and Learning Skills (LS) as part of the foundation programme. Candidates without qualified English must do the English Communication
(EC), Critical Thinking (CT) and Learning Skills (LS) modules as part of foundation
programme. Waiver of the other components of the Foundation programme is on
case-by-case basis. |

Notes:
- Programme fees are exclusive of 7% GST and textbooks, valid for students who enrolled before December 2012. There is a non-refundable application fee of SGD 100 for part-time programmes and SGD 300 for full-time programmes.

- For international students, there is a student admin fee of SGD 300. In addition, an application fee and insurance fee of SGD 90-120 is applicable, made payable to ICA when applying for student pass (Note: Granting of student pass is subject to ICA’s approval).

- Modes of payment available:
International students - Telegraphic Transfer (TT) and Cashier's Order.
Singapore students - Nets, Cheques, Bank Drafts, Union Pay, Credit Cards, Internet Banking and Telegraphic Transfers (TT).
